Rehabilitation monitoring at Curragh mine

Approximately 60ha of reshaped dragline spoil are rehabilitated at Curragh mine each year. In 2002, the CMLR designed and implemented a 5 year monitoring program to provide information on the performance of rehabilitation efforts. The progressive assessment of rehabilitated sites will provide the basis from which site-specific success criteria can be developed as a component of the requisites for the mine closure process.
