Topic Flow-Modelling and Salt-Water Balance at the Gove (NT) Bauxite Refinery.

Project Outline The aim of this project is to develop a model for sustainable plant growth at the red mud revegetation plots at the Gove bauxite refinery. Growth is currently marred by high pH's, high EC's and high sodium content in the system. Accomplishing amelioration requires an understanding of the physical and chemical properties and processes that occur throughout the soil profile.

Using these and field observations, a salt-water balance and a flow model will be developed for both vertical and horizontal groundwater flow.
