Research Interests

  • Plant microbial associations and their role in the establishment of plant communities after mining. The associations studied have included legume – rhizobia, Casuarina – Frankia and various mycorrhizal associations (vesicular-arbuscular and ectomycorrhizal)
  • Plant nutrition and its role in mine rehabilitation
  • Salinity and its effects on plant establishment after mining
  • Factors (especially microbial and nutritional) affecting tree establishment
