Native understorey species regeneration at NSW coal mines.
The Native Understorey Species Regeneration Project (funded through ACARP) was developed to research the key issues that
would assist in establishing native understorey species on post-mined land in New South Wales.
The parent project was divided into four main stages:
- Identification of local species with commercial availability
- Laboratory testing of chosen species to determine germination potential
- Glasshouse studies using the most successful species in media commonly used for rehabilitation purposes
- Series of field experiments to trial selected species under field conditions at nine coal mines in NSW
